Strategic partnership opens new opportunities

Non-governmental organization agency for sustainable development ASTAR and the NGO “Open University of Maidan” have signed a Memorandum on Strategic Partnership in the field of non-formal education. ASTAR relies on changes in society through the development of entrepreneurship and support for Ukrainian business projects in such areas as light industry, agriculture and tourism. In turn, for the VUM online project, the development of citizens’ entrepreneurship is one of the three key areas for the formation of civic competencies in Ukrainian society.

So our organizations have combined our forces and resources and started creating partnership projects. In 2020, we organized two online training programs: “Sewing LEAN” and “Company as a business process system” for small and medium-sized businesses. Such cooperation allowed, firstly, to create new educational products that directly affect the efficiency of the participating companies. And secondly, which is very important – VUM online launched a new direction of paid educational programs. Knowledge for entrepreneurs has its value, which will stimulate their active learning and responsibility for its results.

The Sewing Lean 2.0 program will start on September 22, 2020 which will help light industry companies understand what is the LEAN philosophy, and also to implement LEAN tools in their industries. The program includes video classes, training Zoom sessions, moderated discussions and tasks for the practical knowledge implementations.

Now we are going in the new direction to implement the qualitative changes in society and business, and the development of civic competencies.
