3 non-profits supporting growth of Ukrainian tech talent to support 5,000 jobseekers in collaboration with INCO Academy, with support from Google.org

 

 

Kyiv October, 20 – Today, INCO Academy is launching its Work In Tech program across Ukraine in collaboration with Projector Institute, Open University of Maydan, and Prometheus. With the ongoing war affecting the livelihoods of many across the country, people are looking for ways to learn critical digital skills and knowledge to ensure long-term sustainable employment. To support the desire and need to upskill from today 5,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships will be distributed in Ukraine as part of the INCO Academy – Work in Tech program, Including grant support from Google.org. As part of the program, local non-profits Prometheus, Open University of Maydan, and Projector Institute will support jobseekers across the country to take advantage of the upskilling opportunity.

Those who sign up for the Google Career Certificates can select one of two courses to help grow the necessary skills to support a career in technology and IT. The courses, available on Coursera, include IT Support and Digital Marketing & E-Commerce. Through a mix of videos, assessments, and hands-on activities, participants will learn how to use popular tools and platforms required for an entry-level job. The program also includes mentoring sessions, career consultations, English lessons, and work-life balance training.

The courses can be completed in three to five weeks if done full time although typically learners take up to six months to complete. Interested participants do not require relevant experience or a degree. Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive certificates that are recognized by industry experts and employers.

Throughout the war, online tools have been a lifeline, helping individuals and their communities to stay connected, learn and work remotely. As Ukraine rebuilds, these same tools are vital to creating opportunity and ensuring a more inclusive future across the country.
