Libraries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

The All-Ukrainian Day of Libraries is celebrated in Ukraine on September 30 each year. Especially for this professional holiday, the new course – “Libraries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals” was launched on the VUM online platform.

Libraries are unique social institutions that can be included in all areas and spheres of public life, and have great potential to join their intensive progress. The same applies to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Here we are able to influence the implementation of tasks on the way to the Goals, as well as to involve as many people as possible in their implementation.

This online course focuses on the role of libraries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The authors in an accessible form explain to participants the essence of each goal and demonstrate opportunities and successful examples – how libraries contribute to their achievement.

The course is aimed at librarians of all kinds and sincerely seeking to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals in their communities and globally.

The program is supported by 13 international partners: The European Union, the European Investment Bank, the US Embassy in Ukraine, as well as the governments of the United Kingdom, Denmark, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and Japan.

The course is in Ukrainian. It is free and open for everyone.
